This blog was established to summarise various aspects of coastal engineering and management, particularly those relevant to Western Australia. Each article is aimed to describe context and a general framework for assessing an issue, rather than a detailed ‘how to’ guide. In many cases, information is a synthesis developed from tackling 'similar but different' problems.

Development of these posts was self-funded, with content derived from many years of professional practice and regulatory review. The posts do not represent ‘best practice’, but generally indicate how ‘common practice’ may need to be modified as we move between situations.
