A Blinkered View of Adapting to Recession

Decision-making about coastal adaptation is being made with increasingly complex tools, including economic analysis. However, the reliability of decision-making tools can be affected by understanding of the coastal system. Careful distinction between information and assumptions may be important when determining appropriate use of these tools.


The extent to which knowledge supports understanding of recession trajectory, pathway, rate or response, should influence how adaptation actions are compared.
