Beyond Submergence Curves

One of the more useful pieces of knowledge to fall out of my PhD, was identification of some ways to address limitations of submergence curves. Very handy when suitably applied for construction jobs or coastal monitoring!

Submergence curves describe percentage occurrence of water levels. Although raw submergence information is useful, understanding of fine-scale factors contributing to submergence can be used to significantly refine the perception of submergence (or emergence) risk.
