Down on the Upside

A little peccadillo for the Western Australian coast... our seasonal phases of storms, tide and mean sea level significantly influence our coastal flooding risk...

Coastal inundation hazard is developed through a combination of severe weather events and high tides. We are near the end of the Western Australian tropical cyclone season. However, we're nearly at the peak for inundation hazard in the northwest, and have the seasonal peak hazard for the southwest (however rare!) still to come.
