Coastal Inundation Adaptation Triggers

Much of the world is moving towards adaptive coastal management. Within this setting, decision-triggers need to be practical, maintain tolerable levels of risk, and avoid prompting maladaptation. For coastal inundation, this needs consideration of the episodic nature of flooding, capacity for multiple contributing processes, and the transfers from water level measurement to impacts.

In a recent review of coastal hazard management for WA, it became apparent that inundation triggers are hard to define!
